The Green Fireballs are one of the most interesting -- and forgotten -- mysteries of the early UFO period. From 1948 until well into the 1950s this phenomenon "seemed" like strange, low flying, horizontal "meteors" that would occasionally seem to maneuver and land (or crash). Yet no impact was ever recovered and the leading meteor expert of the day, Dr. Lincoln LaPaz, who was charged with studying them, was convinced these were not meteors at all, nor even natural. He believed they were someone's technology. So did his colleagues in the scientific and classified world. This was a truly perplexing phenomenon that seemed localized over America's leading nuclear technology locations in New Mexico. What we now know is that there was indeed proof that our scientific instruments recorded the phenomenon, but this conclusion was buried in obscure microfilm at the U.S. National Archives.

Richard Dolan is one of the world’s leading researchers and writers on the subject of UFOs and believes that they constitute the greatest mystery of our time. He is the author of two volumes of history, UFOs and the National Security State, both ground-breaking works which together provide the most factually complete and accessible narrative of the UFO subject available anywhere. He also co-authored a speculative book about the future, A.D. After Disclosure, the first-ever analysis not only of how UFO secrecy might end, but of the all-important question: what happens next?
