Description

The Ol Doinyo Lengai (ODL) volcano of Tanzania is currently erupting carbon-rich lavas, unique on Earth. They may be analogous to those that would erupt on a carbon planet, making ODL to our knowledge the first field analogue of an exoplanet. Presented by Jani Radebaugh, Brigham Young University.
